Tree Lighting Ceremony: Speedway Children’s Charities

November 20, 2009

On November 30th, CarolinaLifestyles will be covering Speedway Children’s Charities, as they hold their annual Tree Lighting ceremony at Lowes Motor Speedway.  Along with those festivities, SCC representatives will distribute grant money to recipient organizations throughout the region.

This is a wonderful opportunity for folks in the region to come to the speedway and learn more about SCC–and what this organization does in the Charlotte area, as well as across the country.

Speedway Children’s Charities works with local communities to identify and resolve pressing issues which children in the community are facing. Funds provide money to address needs which vary from assistance with medical costs to educational support.  The eight chapters of SCC support hundreds of not-for-profit organizations nationwide. In 2008, SCC awarded more than $3.4 million to over 420 organizations.

The public is invited to the event, which begins at 6 pm at Lowes Motor Speedway.
